Program for non-Italian Speakers

Students who do not know Italian can take advantage of the Nazareth College Exchange Program in Pescara in two ways.

  1. Beach SceneDuring the Fall Semester, Nazareth College students can study in Pescara for half a semester.

Students begin their course work at Nazareth, where they take one or two accelerated courses and an Italian course. These courses will be completed at Nazareth prior to students' departure for Italy. The semester will be then completed in Pescara.

While in Pescara students take one or two courses in Italian:

  • Italian grammar
  • Italian conversation (through D'Annunzio Erasmus Program)

If needed, students also take a course in English in the Department of English at the D'Annunzio's University. Students take a total of 15 credit hours, maintaining a full time status.

Departure is in Mid-October and the return date is in mid December.

  1. The second possibility for non-speaking Italian students is to spend the entire semester in Pescara, and participate in the D'Annunzio Erasmus Program, covering courses in Italian grammar and Conversation. If needed the students can also take courses in other foreign languages in Pescara.

The total of the courses taken will be 15 credit hours, thus keeping the students to a full time status.
