I am Professor of Biology and Biology Department Chairperson, at Nazareth College. I teach Biological Systems I and II ( BIO 103/104; BIO 103L - freshman biology w/lab), Animal Physiology (BIO 237/237L), Comparative Chordate Anatomy (BIO 201/201L), Human Gross Anatomy  (HSC 202/202L), Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II (Bio 150/150L & Bio 151/151L) , Fundamentals of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Bio 235) and Human Biology (BIO 109/110L). My research interests are in the fields of reptilian/amphibian physiological/behavioral ecology. More specifically, I am interested in the digestive and thermoregulatory physiology of reptiles and amphibians. Recent projects include measuring digestive efficiencies of macronutrients and bioassays for chitinolytic enzymes in the side-blotched lizard, Uta stansburiana. I am also involved in conservation projects with the NYS DEC studying the behavior of free-ranging bog and spotted turtles in Western New York State. Click on the links above to view information about my courses and research projects.

I am also a NYS Certified Emergency Medical Technician. I volunteer with the East Bloomfield-Holcomb Fire Department's Emergency Squad (www.eastbloomfieldfire.com), where I serve as EMS secretary and Fire Department webmaster.

Finally, I play in a classic rock-n-roll trio with Dr. Mark Zeigler (Nazareth Music Dept.) and his wife, Mary Zeigler. We call ourselves "The Chairs". I sing lead vocal and play guitar, piano, and sax. We do a lot of gigs right here at Nazareth College, so drop by for some fun if you hear our name around campus.
