Chautauqua - Allegheny

Named after its 22 mile lake and mountain range, this region is a popular place for hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. The area borders Pennsylvania, offering many other attractions for tourists.

The area also features a host of cultural offerings, beginning with the Chautauqua Institute, a resource for literature, politics, and the performing arts. The Institute is one of the defining elements of this region. One of the most popular events in this area is the Great Wellsville Balloon Rally. Balloons in all shapes and sizes come out to make an appearance for this event. The scenic Allegheny area draws many visitors due to its historic village appearance.
