What is Kappa Delta Pi?

Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society in education whose purpose is to promote excellence in and recognize outstanding contributions in education. It endeavors to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members, quicken professional growth, and honor achievement in educational work. It invites to membership such persons as exhibit commendable personal qualities, worthy educational ideals, and sound scholarship.

A Brief History of the Rho Psi Chapter

The Rho Psi Chapter was installed at Nazareth College on March 2, 1990. Our members include undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and faculty who are active members of Kappa Delta Pi. Since its inception, a focal point for the Rho Psi Chapter has been professional development. Professional programs on topics of interest to educators are presented at our chapter meetings. In the past, the Rho Psi Chapter has hosted notable authors Alex Kotlowitz and Richard Lavoie.

Kappa Delta Pi Membership Information

Requirements for Membership in Kappa Delta Pi

Invitations to join the society are offered to those who meet the minimum grade point requirements (3.75 for graduate students; 3.50 for undergraduate students) and who are nominated by the education faculty as outstanding candidates to meet the ideals of the society.

In order to maintain chapter membership we ask that you please attend at least one workshop per year or volunteer for our adopt a highway program. Each are offered two times per year. Once in the Fall and again in the spring. Please note the only exception to this is if you reside out of town. In this case, a letter informing us of your involvement in community service or a professional development workshop or program would be acceptable.
