Lavey Reohr, a 1997 Inductee, addressed the audience of the topic: The
Nature of Fractals.
Shannon
ML Reohr graduated cum laude from Nazareth College of Rochester in
May of 1998, with a BA degree in Mathematics Education and a minor in
Religious studies.
She continued on with her education and earned her MS degree in
Multi-Disciplinary Studies with Mathematics and Educational Foundations
from Buffalo State College in August of 1999.
In September of 1999, Shannon began her teaching career at West
Genesee High School in Camillus, NY.
After completing her first year at West Genesee, Shannon had the
opportunity to move to Cayuga Community College where she is currently a
fulltime Mathematics Instructor.
While instructing at the college, Shannon has lead a committee
addressing the impact the new Math A and B exams at the high school level
would have on the students and courses offered at CCC.
In addition, she has served on several committees to implement NYS
general education requirements for the college.
She has also had the opportunity to serve as advisor of the BASIS
(Brothers and Sisters in Christ) program.
In addition to her professional career, Shannon is married to her
husband Steve and they have two children Tyler, two and Stella, six
months.
Her hobbies include playing softball, synchronize swimming, scuba
diving (almost certified!), and playing the piano.
