The guest speaker was James Tiffin, Jr., a class of 1998 Nazareth College graduate with a B.A. in Mathematics.

James addressed that audience with a presentation entitled, "The Mathematical Initiative."

Upon graduation, James took a job in the Telecommunications Department at the Oneida Indian Nation. He moved back to Rochester to accept a technician's position with Monarch Communications and met his wife, a math teacher. That's when he returned to Nazareth to enroll in the Post-Baccalaureate program to become a mathematics teacher.

Student teaching brought James to Wayne Central and this is where is took his first teaching job at their middle school teaching Academic Intervention Services for Mathematics. When an opening was available at the high school, James began teaching Math 3 Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors, and will be teaching AP Statistics in 07-08. He is also the coach of the school's math tea, The Radical Denominators.

During the fall of 2007, James will return to Nazareth College, but this time took in the role of lecturer. He will be teaching an undergraduate Precalculus.
