There will be formal writing assignments for this course.
The first two essays must meet these guidelines:
- A word processor must be used for each paper.
- Papers must be printed on a high quality printer.
- Each essay will have a cover sheet with the title, student name,
course and instructor name, and date.
- Two separate copies of each essay (including the title page) are
to be submitted.
- There will be personal writing conferences to discuss each of the
first two papers. Each student will read his/her paper to the instructor.
The content and mechanics of the paper will be discussed. Students
will then be able to make updates to the final version of the paper.
- Writing assignments will be graded on: Substance Organization Evidence
Mechanics (grammar, spelling, etc.) Examples of A, B, C, and D papers
from previous semesters will be available in the Math 109 Solutions
